About Us

How we started....

As a young girl my family was involved with showing and breeding horses.  We spent many a weekend travelling to the different shows and I always admired the dog show circuit from afar.

In 1990 I bought my first Cocker Spaniel...a gold girl called Bluesand Chardonnay.  'Shara' got me hooked with the showing bug with the few small wins that she had.  Due to Shara being diagnosed with HD, I then purchased my next Cocker Spaniel, a black girl who would be my first Champion 'Ch Macdolly Looks Could Kill' (Jessie).  Jessie was not a great producer and after a number of disastrous births she finally produced our first home bred Champion, sired by Ch Bifield Soldon Style...Ch Tarrendayle Like My Style (Leeroy).  The next I was to own was a gold dog called Ch Macdolly Like A Prayer (Oskar)  A sweet gold dog who lived with us and was owned in partnership with Macdolly Kennels and then later due to unforseen circumstances was placed with the late Hazel Meara (Hazmar).  I had successfully shown a number of solid Cockers during this time.

In 1994 I was fortunate enough to meet Ann O'Keefe (Glenayden Kennels) and struck up a wonderful friendship.  Ann was to send me my first parti colour Cocker and an orange roan bitch and she is the foundation of the Cockers I have today.  Ch Glenayden Tickled Pink (Becky) is one of the sweetest Cockers I have ever had the pleasure of owning.  The most beautiful soft, sweet nature and she holds a very special place in my heart.  She is the mother of my home bred boy multi BIS/BISS 'Champion Tarrendayle Tickle Me Erni' (Ziggy) who was awarded Queenslands Cocker of the Year 2001 and has been and still is my pride and joy, sired by the magnificent Ch Glenayden Totally Wild.  Along the way I was grateful to Debbie Richter who leased to me Ch Joyric Yule Remember Me, a blue dog and Ch Joyric Will Of The Wind 'Breeze' another sweet blue roan girl who just wanted to please.

We also retained a Ziggy daughter, Ch Cobalt Ginger Spice from Sue Bruno (Cobalt) who went on to produce a lovely Black & White dog sired by Ch Glenayden Totally Wild.  His name was Tarrendayle Total Kaos and he was awarded Queensland's Cocker Puppy of the Year 2002.

I was then privileged to be given a blue roan girl from Ann O'Keefe's IID litter and she was titled with ease as were all the above dogs.  Her name would be Ch Glenayden Centrefold iid.(Lexy)   Along the way we were also given BIS/BISS Ch Wynmoore Melting Pot (Mandy) from Julie Phipps (Wynmoore) who to our knowledge was the first Cocker Spaniel Optigen Tested A1 clear prcd in Australia.  Mandy was awarded Queensland's Cocker of the Year in 2000 and 2002 and has gone on to produce a number of young successfuls, currently in the ring for both us and Ann O'Keefe (Glenayden), such as Ch Tarrendayle Moment N Time, Ch Tarrendayle Meltin Moment and Grand Ch Glenayden Melt Down who was awarded Queensland's Cocker Puppy of the Year 2004 and is currently the top dog being shown in our Kennel today. Thanks to our dear friend Ann (Glenayden) for giving us this lovely dog!

We are also grateful to Gaye Allen (Ryangaye) whom we purchased our sweet Jazz (Ch Ryangaye Rythym N Jazz) who was awarded Queensland's Cocker Puppy of the Year 2003.  Due to unforseen circumstances tragic circumstances took Jazz on to Rainbow Bridge way before her time.  We are Thankful that Jazz was able to produce for us our lovely girl Delta (Ch Tarrendayle From The Heart) sired by our special boy Ziggy.  Delta is currently being shown and was awarded Queensland's Cocker Puppy of the Year 2005...making this 4 years in a row for our small kennel!!  Quite an achievement of which we are very proud.

We have now imported 2 Cockers..a black girl Aust Ch Worlewood Black Cherry (Imp UK) and a gold dog, Am Ch Dawnglow Cinderella Man (Imp USA), with these 2 lovely imports we are excited about our future in solids.

Our list of successes goes on with both parti colours and solids...no doubt the list will continue to go on and we invite you to continue to watch our journey...things can only get better...

We are very proud of the dogs in our kennels and our success in the show ring. If you have any enquires regarding our Cockers and any up and coming litters, please contact us, we are more than happy to help. At Tarrendayle, we do not breed for the sake of breeding, but breed for the betterment of the breed.

After many years in Queensland we said some sad Goodbyes and moved to Bathurst, New South Wales where we have enjoyed many more wins and won Runner Up Cocker of the Year in NSW with our lovely blue girl Ch Kokleone Koncerto in 2007, Cocker Puppy of the Year with Ch Westlake War Oth Roses 2008 and Opp Sex Puppy of the Year with Tarrendayle The Dark Knight 2009.
With a good job offer in ACT for Ray, we move again to the outskirts of Goulburn NSW and we are enjoying living on our 31 acres of land and enjoying a new show circuit.

I am now extending further into this wonderful hobby,  and have obtained my licence to judge all Gundogs and Toys Breeds at Championship level.
